Chapter 25 ~ Lucy

"Jen!!" I said as I went up to hug her.

"Nice to see you're okay," Starla said with a smile, crossing her arms. Alex looked over and his eyes seemed to say 'Welcome Back'.

"I...I got some bad news though," Jen said and filled us in. All our smiles faded.

"Vladmir...kills people for power?" I asked.

"Yep. And its growing. Fast," Jen said.

"Now, what? We have no way of tracking thanks to Master Alex here," Starla said, which made Alex glare at her.

"I got a blood sample of him from Professor. We can use that. And let me do the work," Jen said, glaring at Alex too. Alex looked at me for help.

"Leave Alex alone. He helped Starla and I avenge my parents," I backed up.

"Starla, didn't you say you needed to tell me something? Jen, hurry up and fix it. C'mon, Starla," Alex said as he twisted her arm and pulled her into a different room.

"Lucy, can you do me a favor and fix this? I think those two alone could cause an early apocalypse. The instructions should be on my phone," Jen said as she walked over to the room Alex and Starla where in.

I looked on her phone and saw the instructions.

In German.

She probably took German when she was in school before. Times when I actually hate her more than Alex and Starla are now.

"Jen! I can't read German!" I said, but she closed the door and didn't here me.

"Hey," someone said. I saw a boy about my age.

"Who the fuck are you?!" I yelled, "And how did you get on?!"

"It's Zach. No need to yell," he said.

"But, I thought you where the cloud...that was driving...and why are you human..." I said, confused. I reached over and tried to touch him.

Zach smiled and said, "Don't worry. It's on autopilot. And I AM a cloud. I can take human form too. You see, part of me is this car and part of me is what you're seeing. I got bored so I decided to freak you out and stuff."

"It's getting harder for me to be 'freaked out' since everything in my world is messed up like hell," I said frustratingly.

"You need anything?" Zach asked.

"Didn't you hear me screaming, 'I can't read German!'?" I said.

"No. I was too busy listening to Train. Let me guess. Jen left you alone with something important that's only read in German. Figures. Jen and I were in German class together," Zach said, scratching his head.

"That's great! You can help me right?" I asked.

"Well, my German's sort of rusty. Jen uses it all the time and I haven't spoken it for a few hundred years. Plus, I really didn't pay attention much," Zach said, turning red.

"Fuck. Now what are we going to do?" I asked.

"'We'?" he said.

"Well, you're now a part of this," I said.

"Who said so?" he asked drinking a glass of champagne.

"Me," I said with a glare. Zach dropped the glass and shuddered. Huh. Looks that my glare can kill.

"Fine. As long as you don't kill me," he said, grabbing Jen's phone. And that's how we got almost finished.

"All we need now is the blood sample," Zach said.

"But, Jen has it," I said.

"Exactly. That's why you need to get in there and take it," Zach said.

"Why can't you?" I asked.

"Because, I helped you enough," Zach said.

"It'll be too noisy. The door creaks," I said.

"Then, I'll turn you into a cloud," Zach said. I widened my eyes.

"Relax. Only for a while. That way, you can become part of me and take the antidote by using my body," Zach explained.

"Fine. But, you better know how to change me back," I said. Zach smirked and said, "I always do." He touched my forehead. I felt one hundred pounds lighter, but still solid. I looked around and found Zach.

"Just melt into me," he said.

"That's fucking gross," I shuddered, but I melted into him and into the wall. I found the wall where the three angels where in. The blood tube was in her pocket, hanging out. I tried to reach for it, but almost fell off Zach (it still sounds gross).

I turned my hand into a claw and reached for it again. This time, Jen moved around so she was nearly sitting on it. Damn it. I can't get it without touching her ass and that will be...what's the word I'm looking for?

AWKWARD.

"Oh, I'm sitting on the blood sample," Jen said. She put it on the table. Yes!

"Thank God its not smashed," Alex said.

"As I was saying, Lucy turned into the freak monster," Starla said. I froze. I'm not an eavesdropper, really. But can you not listen when one of you friends talks about you?

"Everything died in her path and she killed Abel in one blow," Starla said. When did I do that? I got to focus. The tube. I need to get the tube-

"Then, she turned back to normal with no memory," Starla finished. No memory. Why didn't she tell me?

"Why didn't you tell me!?" I yelled. The whole room became silent.

Oops.

"Lucy? Is that you?" Alex asked. Please. Please. Please believe it was the wind.

"Maybe it was the wind?" Starla said.

"Or maybe it's this weird arm sticking out trying to take the tube," Jen said, taking the tube away from me. I almost whined, but then remembered to stay silent.

"Lucy?" Alex asked, reaching out to touch the arm.

"Gotcha!" I heard someone say.

"Zach?" Starla asked.

"Duh! It's obviously a trick. You morons fell for it!" Zach said happily.

"Don't do it again or I'll rip the fluff off you neck," Jen said, "Lucy can't know about this."

"Ditto," Zach said, "BTW: I need the vial to finish the tracker. I'm helping Lucy finish it and she asked me to get it for her. And you just had to get the German instructions did you?"

"Sorry," Jen said, turning red. She handed the antidote to Zach and we got out of there. Then, I felt a sharp pain on my ass.

"What was that for?" I screamed.

"For blowing your damn cover. Now let's get this done with," Zach said with another slap.

"You can stop slapping my ass now," I muttered.

Chapter 24 ~ Alex

"Shit...where are they?" I wondered to myself. The GPS sort of hates me and even though I've been following it for almost an hour, I still haven't found them. And just when I think I was getting close, it just has to die on me.

C'mon. Laugh. Laugh at how all electronics hate me. Then, my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Alex? Where the fuck are you?" Starla said.

"In the redwoods, but the GPS hates me so it doesn't work And worst of all it died, so now I'm stuck in this fucking tree praying the signal doesn't die! Does that explain the shitty question?!" I yelled.

"Of course it does!" Starla said sarcastically, "Just tell us which tree you're on and of course we WON'T FUCKING FIND YOU!" Then, a bunch of static until I heard Lucy.

"Alex?" she asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"Sorry. Starla's just mad. It's all my fault. I hurt my damn ankle and Starla was helping me up. After that, Starla and I flying to the landline until I saw a tree branch. I was yelling 'Duck! Duck!' and then Starla had to fly upward and say 'Where?' and then her wing got fucking busted and we're now trapped here," Lucy explained.

"Fine. This will be impossible to do, but I'll try and find you, okay?" I offered.

"Okay, just hurry up before she becomes Eros and tries to eat me," Lucy said as she hung up. I looked at my phone and remembered that there's a GPS on there! If all goes well, I can transport Angel Data on my phone and track them down.

Then again, usually all my experiments backfire. What was supposed to be Vladimir became that Abel dude. Who knows what might go wrong. Maybe my phone will turn into a nuclear reactor and destroy the whole Redwood National Park.

I'm just saying.

I undid the wires inside the GPS and sort of shoved them in the charging plug on my phone. I waited and...

My phone screen blacked out.

"Fuck!" I cursed, but then heard an entrance fanfare coming from the GPS.

The GPS must have taken the battery from my phone and used it to charge itself. So...it cancels out, right?

When the GPS turned on, it said a bunch of instructions, which I didn't listen to in the beginning. But one part caught me.

"When navigating yourself to find the angel, you must NOT follow the arrow but go the opposite direction, as if you were flying an airplane," the soothing voice saying all the instructions said.

So this is why listening to directions is important. Kids, listen up, always listen and follow directions or you may get yourself stuck in a national park lost with an I-don't-know-how-it-works GPS.

After five minutes I found them sitting at the landline, playing Angry Birds on an iPod touch.

"Yo," I said.

"Alex!" Lucy said as she ran up to hug me, Starla pushed her out of the way and punched me in the face.

"Really! It took you that long to find us?!" Starla asked.

"Yep. Now let me see that wing of yours," I said. Starla sighed, but pointed to the wing that was bent.

"Ouch," I muttered as I examined the damage. Her wing was bent pretty badly.

"So, now what Doctor," Starla asked.

"We'll need to get this wing amputated," I said.

"WHAT!?!" Starla yelled.

"Of course not, idiot. Now sit down. I'll fix that wing. Let me check Lucy," I said.

"And after Lucy, you may need to check your face!" Starla said, growling. Lucy held her back and sat down closer to me. I looked at it.

"You twisted this badly. Luckily, I can fix this instantly," I said. I placed my palms around her ankle and concentrated my energy on her ankle. Lucy winced, but that's natural. This is probably the first time magic has coursed through her body. Then, I let go.

"There, now try moving it," I said. Lucy cautiously turned her ankle.

"It doesn't hurt! Thank you so much!" Lucy said, as she gave me a hug. I pushed her back. I'm not much of a hugger.

"Starla, this is going to hurt, okay? It'll hurt to fly for a while," I said. I summoned a wing brace and some gloves. First, I numbed the wing and then bent the wing back in place. I used my magical energy to seal the bones inside and then put the brace on.

"Done. And I was nice enough to numb the pain for you, even though you don't deserve it Nightwalker," I said. Starla passed away that remark which is I guess her way of saying thank you.

"Now, let's go. I'll get Zach for us," I said.

Chapter 23 ~ Jennifer

"Whoa," I said. Dead Rachmaninoff mommy. Scary.

"Now what? We have no way of knowing goals or weaknesses, unless you want to travel to the Dark Side," Alex said.

"Dark Side should be our last plan. There has to be some other ways we can find more information on Vladimir Rachmaninoff," I said.

"I know someone," said one of the exterminators. Alex and I turned to look at him.

"My friend Louie has been researching Vladimir Rachmaninoff all his life. He should know some stuff," the exterminator said. We looked at each other, thanked the man, and then hopped onto a cloud.

"You know Louie Thomas? Take us there ASAP," Alex said.

"Sure, but it will take a while," the cloud said.

"We'll pay double the grease," Alex said. The cloud nodded and started to drive. My cellphone rang.

"Hold on, I have to take this," I said as I typed in the code to enter my iPhone.

"Jen!" Starla said.

"Starla? Where are you?" I asked.

"In California! Near the redwoods! We had a mix-up with one of Vladimir's lackeys. Lucy beat him up and we-"

"Lucy beat him up?" I asked questionably.

"Don't interrupt!" Starla said, "Anyway, we're...I don't know. My cell died so we had to use this stupid landline. Just use the GPS!" Then, the thing was cut off.

"Lucy beat up, who?" Alex asked.

"One of Vladimir's workers. Listen, you have to find them," I said as I passed him the GPS.

"Why me? I always do man work," Alex whined.

"That's because you're a man. They're somewhere in California, near the redwood trees," I said.

"Trees look the same," Alex pointed out.

"This one has red...wood?"

"Shut up. Fine, I'll find them. But you owe me something...like...a penguin!"

"A penguin?" I asked.

"A penguin!" Alex said as he flew off the cloud.

Fucking idiot.

x.X.x

"Mr. Thomas?" I asked knocking on the door. A tall man opened the door with a beard. He was holding a mug of coffee.

"It's Dr. Thomas for you," he said.

"Sorry, sir, to interrupt. But, may I please come in? I have important business with you," I asked. Dr. Thomas nodded and I walked in. I sat down at the coffee table.

"What do you need?" Dr. Thomas asked.

"I need some information on Vladimir Rachmaninoff," I whispered silently.

"I see. This is about the attacks. Come in my study," he whispered. He got a cup of coffee and then beckoned me to follow him into a wall.

"Um...sir?" I asked with a whisper, but Dr. Thomas signaled me to be quiet. Then, he pressed the wall really fast at random to me. Then, the wall tore apart into a secret study.

"Here is all the work I've done on Vladimir," Dr. Thomas whispered proudly.

"Why are we whispering?" I whispered.

"Because we are. Anyway, the folders are alphabetized so you'll be able to find info in a flash. It has the same technology as the archives," Dr. Thomas whispered. I nodded and thanked him. I then rushed to the W's. I took out the Weaknesses folder and plugged the card into my phone.

What it read was "Weaknesses: Unknown".

"Dr. Thomas?" I asked, not in a whisper. Dr. Thomas walked next to me.

"Unknown weaknesses?" I asked, gulping inside my head.

"Oh, yes. At his rate, no one had any chance of recording it. He'd strangle them before it happened. His mom might have been the only one to know, but she was a special case. I'm researching that right now, but it will take a while until I get solid proof," Dr. Thomas said.

"Shit," I muttered. This is a hell of a mess.

I wandered over to the G's and then pulled open the "Goals" folder. I plugged the card into my phone. At least this one wasn't unknown.

"Goals," I read out loud, "Vladimir's main goal is to achieve immortality and become the highest dark angel in time. So far, this hasn't happened, but because of a recent incident in the Cross household, Vladimir might have achieved his immortality." He hasn't yet. I mean he hasn't reached his full power!

But I pray to God that he'll never make his dream, or nightmare, come true.

Chapter 22 ~ Starla

I opened my eyes, slowly.

"HOLY-" I yelled. I was in a cage next to Lucy. What the fuck is going on? How did we get here? And more importantly-

Oh. Fuck.

"Lucy, wake up!" I yelled. She punched me in the face again.

"Stop with the damn punching!" I yelled, holding me nose and praying I don't have a nose bleed.

"When did you get here?" I asked.

"I was going to ask you that. But first of all, WHY DID YOU DROP ME!?!?!?" Lucy screamed.

"Wait. When did I-" I asked and then I remembered.

"Yeah! When you dropped me from probably a shitty 7 stories hight! It's a miracle I didn't die! I might have ruptured my ear drum too!" Lucy yelled.

"Well, sorry. That's what happens if you were going about 130 miles an hour," I said.

"WHAT?! BAKA! BAKA! BAKA!" Lucy screamed. I was about to break her arm until someone said, "SILENCE!!!"

"And who the fuck are you?" Lucy said angrily. Hey, wait. Why does he look familiar...?

"Is that how you greet the right hand man of Vladimir? And that the right hand man killed your shitty parents?" he said.

"Wait? YOU'RE the KILLER?!" Lucy screamed, "I'm going to kick your-"

"Let me explain. Vladimir killed you parents for a reason. They gave birth to a Child of Misfortune. The world doesn't want another! They were so dirty that the almighty Vladimir wouldn't put his hands on their heads," he said.

"Hey! Now I know who you are! You're Abel Kichiki! You're such a cheap person that you'll do anything for money! I bet you don't even want to work for that bastard, but you need the money! You fail!!!" I said.

"So this guy killed my parents...for money!?!?!" Lucy screamed in rage. I haven't seen her this angry. I mean, her face was red. She punched the cage and a dent came through that.

"Lucy, calm down!" I said trying to hold her arm. She turned around and I saw that her skin was black and her eyes white. Scarier than Eros. A mask grew over her face and her hands and feet became claw like. I saw fangs coming out and her mouth was dripping with blood. She swiped the cage and the cage broke in half. I let go of her arm and looked at my hand.

It was burned.

Lucy, or should I see the demonic person in place of Lucy, roared. Everywhere she went, plants died and animals where dead meat...bad choice of words...wait...you know what, I don't know.

Anyway, she looked like a demonic hulk...but evil and stuff... You, know what, I should just say what happened. Imagine what she looks like. Think of a devil's spawn.

Lucy grabbed Abel by the throat. He winced and tried to make her let go of her. He got his knife and cut her hand, which instantly regenerated.

"Where's Vladimir?" Lucy roared. It sounded like three Lucy's were talking at once. Abel pointed over the side. Lucy threw Abel over to the side and turned back to normal and passed out. I ran over to her.

"Lucy?" I asked. Lucy punched me and opened my eyes. I clasped my eye.

"Again?! With the punches!" I yelled.

"Huh? Why are we out of the cage?" Lucy asked.

"Wait, you don't remember?" I asked.

"What do you mean remember? Hey! Why are all the trees dead?" Lucy asked. I was stunned. She had no memory of the recent event. Should I tell her? Should I leave it be?

"Nothing. Playing tricks on you. Let's go," I said, shaking my head in confusion. I took her hand and flew off, slowly (I bet Lucy's happy right now) One question laid in my head.

What is Lucy?

Chapter 21 ~ Lucy

Look, Nathaniel! Lucy's taking her first steps!" Mom cried. I walked into her arms laughing. Then, as soon as I was about to reach into her arms, Dad picked me up.

"Oh, Lucy...Lucy...Lucy..."

"LUCY!!!" Starla yelled. I woke up and punched her in the face. She shrieked and fell backwards.

"Starla! Oh, my God, I'm so sorry!" I yelled. Starla rubbed her cheek. That's a reflex. Now what, is she going to go Eros on me now?

"It's okay," Starla sighed.

"Hey! No fighting inside me!" Zach said. We both mumbled an apology.

"So, what's up?" Starla asked.

"More flashbacks of Mom and Dad," I said.

"Once again, I'm so sorry," Starla pouted. I sighed. Suddenly, an alarm rang.

"WHAT'S THAT NOISE?!" I yelled.

"IT'S SOMETHING ALEX INSTALLED!!! VLADIMIR STRUCK AGAIN!! HANG ON!" Zach said. We covered our ears as Zach drove (?) us to what seemed to be in the Redwood forest.

"Here! Now hold on!" Zach screamed.

"Wait, what do you mean by-" I asked, but then our seats jumped off the limo and then (since it was cloud) shaped into a parachute. Starla, on the other hand, jumped off her seat and flew.

"No fair! I was scared to death!" I said.

"Pays when you're an angel," Starla said as she smirked.

"You want another punch?" I growled, until Starla smelled something.

"Blood," she said and she took me by the hand and started to fly.

"Wait! Slow down!" I yelled as she flew upwards and above the redwood trees. I was clasping to her hand as if it was the most important thing in the world as she flew at full speed. I barely hung on as she made a tight turn. Soon, she flew to the left and I was blown off.

"STARLA!!!" I screamed, but as she turned around, I was gone and falling.

"LUCY!!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!" she yelled, but I could barely hear her. My head was spinning as I fell to the forest floor. I must have ruptured an ear drum. The only thing I had left was Starla's cell phone. I turned it on and then passcode was on.

Passcode? I didn't think Starla was smart enough to remember her password. 4 numbers. That's all I needed. Birthdate? Um...um...oh yeah! I pressed the numbers 1211.

Wrong.

That's when I started freaking out. 1111. Nope. 1112. Nope. 1113. Nope. One more try. Oh, shit. Um...what's Jen's birthday? 0212. I wondered if this is how she remembers Jen's birthday.

Ding. Ding. Ding! I went to the phone and opened up her contacts. I couldn't call Starla because it was her phone. How about...Jen! I went to press her number, but then the screen went black.

Fuck. Battery's dead.

Now what, I paced along the forest floor. I remember what my mom told me once. Stay where you are and we'll find you. And if possible, hug a tree. I went to the nearest redwood tree and did my best to wrap around the fat truck.

x.X.x

"She still hasn't found me? What happened?" I asked. I was starting to get worried. I've been hugging this tree for almost two hours and no one has been here. Starla, where are you?

I took my sore hands off the trunk (yes, I held the damn thing for about 2 hours) and called her name.

"STARLA!!!" I screamed. I walked around and after about five minutes, a cage came over me.

Damn it! I was trapped.

Chapter 20 ~ Alex

Author's Note: Please everyone tell people about my blog. Plus give me some feedback by putting some comments. I'd appreciate if you'd also follow my blog, but for now here's chapter 20.

"Let's get out of here now. Quick, before the police come," Starla said. Lucy nodded and wiped her eyes. I sighed. Vladimir struck again. Jen muttered something.

"Jen, what's wrong?" I asked. Jen looked at me and I saw a worried look on her face.

"It's...just...dreams..." Jen said.

"Dreams as in scary dreams or dreams related to this thing," I asked. Jen pointed a shaking hand to the door. I nodded.

"You have to tell us. When you're ready, okay?" I asked. Jen nodded quickly.

"Hey, I'm coming with you," someone said. I turned around and saw Krystal, looking worried as well.

"Krystal, you have to stay here and watch your boyfriend," Lucy sniffled. Krystal sighed.

"I'll keep you guys updated on what's going on. I have Lucy's phone number anyway," Krystal said sadly. Lucy looked at her. Then she ran up to her and gave her a tight hug.

"I'll miss you," Lucy said. Krystal smiled and hugged her back.

"Let's get going," Starla said, "Lucy, I have a special way of traveling for you so, Alex, don't worry about carrying her." I sighed in relief.

"But you'll have to carry her for a while," Starla said.

Fuck.

x.X.x

"Meet Zach, a friend of mine," Starla said. Lucy looked at her.

"Where is he?" Lucy asked.

"It's the cloud," someone said. The cloud changed into a human shape.

"I'm Zach, traveling cloud and friend of Starla's," Zach said. Lucy stared.

"Clouds? Angels? What else? Flying horses?" Lucy yelled to the sky.

"Actually, flying horses really exist you-" Jen started, before she caught Lucy's glare. Damn, that glare is piercing.

"Climb in," Zach said, changing into a limo, "I won't bite. Hell, I don't have fucking teeth, I'm a cloud." Starla climbed in automatically and Jen went in right after. Lucy looked at me.

"Ladies first," I said.

"What, you scared?" I asked.

"Hell no. Jen is always talking about me being a gentleman," I said. Lucy smirked, but hopped in. I climbed in afterwards.

Zach, the cloud limo, was awesome, for a cloud limo. It was probably the biggest and most comfortable you can get with limos. Somehow, the cloud got us some beds to fit inside and personal TVs. Included with that is a nice bathroom with a shower and a Xbox 360 for us. Radio stations all around the world, kitchens, and some wonderful prepared food for us.

"Nice," I said. Then, some food appeared at the table. Bacon and eggs and pancakes.

"Breakfast's served," Zach said. Lucy picked at her pancakes. Starla and I shoved egg in our mouths and Jen put a helping of bacon on her plate.

"Now let's talk serious," I said. Lucy looked up.

"I was thinking we go look up things on the Angel Archive," I proclaimed. Now Starla and Jen looked up.

"We can't do that. Lucy can't come," Jen said.

"Jen, you and me can go to the archives. Starla and Lucy can use my laptop to see if anymore casualties have happened and investigate," I said.

"But, first...I wanna tell people about my dream," Jen said as she explained what happened. Oh, fucking hell.

"Vladimir better rot in hell after we're done with this damn mess," Lucy said.

x.X.x.

After we had entrance to the Angel Archives, we ran straight in the R aisles.

"Rachmaninoff," Jen muttered. I looked at the beginning and started to look through cabinets. Jen did the same.

"He can't be too far off, right?" I said until Jen pulled out the folder of Rachmaninoff.

"Thank God Starla isn't here. She would have been stupid and looked farther on," I said.

"Thank God Starla isn't here. No more bickering for now," Jen sighed. I took the folder from her hands and laid out the card. I walked to the nearest computer and plugged in the card. For all you new timers, the archives couldn't hold all the files in these folders, so they scanned the files into an electronic holding card, like a flash drive. Plug it in the computer and then you got all the info on whatever.

"This is shitty hell," I said.

"No kidding," Jen replied, "Anyway, this has way more information than the online encyclopedia. And check this out his brother Sergei was born a light angel and Vladimir was born dark. That means-"

"-one of his parents must have been light and the other dark." I finished. Jen nodded. Rare how those two fell in love. Wonder how.

And also whoever the light angel was is fucked up.

"Anyway, Sergei is a light angel and his specialty was music. Vladimir had a specialty as a strangler. It says in his childhood he was friends with his brother and also played piano. He was good until his brother became more famous. Vladimir became jealous, strangled Sergei's girlfriend, and then ran into the darkness. Then...well, you know the rest." Jen interpreted.

"Is there anyone we could talk to that's close to him?" I asked.

"Other than the Darkness? There's not many, but I think his mom is alive. His mom is the light angel," Jen said. I ran out the door and flew up to a cloud.

"Mrs. Rachmaninoff," I said. Then, my phone rang. Fuck. I picked it up.

"Idiot! You left me!" Jen yelled.

"Keep researching. I'll find out some info," I said. I hung up and then looked ahead.

"Here," the cloud said. I gave it a tip (extra fluff) and then ran inside.

"Ma'am?" I asked. I walked around on the creaky floor. I summoned my knife, just in case. I opened the bathroom to take a piss and then gasped. There was a dead woman in the bathtub and a bloody V carved on her forehead.

Looks like her son got to her first. I took away my knife, in case someone thought I was the killer and sighed. Then, I took out my angel contacting device and called Headmaster.

"HELLO?" Headmaster yelled in a deafening voice. His nose was all I could see. I almost dropped the thingy.

"Um...you don't have to scream," I said, "It's Alex. Alex Hagane?"

"Oh, go ahead," Headmaster said.

"Take a look. I was just here to meet Mrs. Rachmaninoff," I said holding the communicator over her.

"Oh, that's not good," Headmaster said. I sighed.

"I took some pictures and some fingerprints. I need to head back in the archives to do some research. Can you send some backup?" I asked.

"Of course," Headmaster said as he hung up. I looked back to the V.

Fuck.

Chapter 19 ~ Jennifer

"Dude, I can't take school anymore," Starla said to me on a Thursday afternoon. I looked at her.

"You know, what's more important? Lucy, or your sanity...oh, wait, that's kind of the same..." I said.

"Hey, check this out!" Alex said, as he took out his laptop. We walked over there and crouched over the screen, along with Lucy.

"Remember how Lucy was talking about seeing that stranger that looked like a strangler and had blood on his hands and stuff?" Alex asked. We nodded. Lucy shivered.

"I looked him up on the LD Encyclopedia (BTW: LD stands for Light and Dark) and this came up," Alex pointed to the screen.

"Vladimir Rachmaninov," Starla said, "Dark Angel. Status is dead. Was in prison due to killing thousands of people, mainly from strangling. Alive from 1134-1297."

"They obviously need to update this," Lucy mumbled, "Jerks."

"But, if he's dead, why is he alive?" I asked.

"See, that's the problem. He's not supposed to be fucking alive," Alex said, "But he is."

"Whatever the reason is there's another problem. How come I can see him and you can't? I'm not even an angel!" Lucy asked.

"Another problem," Alex pointed out.

"So let me get this to the point," Starla said, "There's a fucking strangler who's supposed to be dead on the loose and only Lucy can see him and we're out of ice cream."

"Ice cream?" I asked.

"I ate the last of the ice cream we bought Monday," Starla explained.

"Forget ice cream. Focus!" I said.

"Well, what can we do?" Starla said, "But one thing we can do is buy ice cream."

"He hasn't really been a threat. Maybe Lucy was hallucinating," Alex suggested.

"I wish it were that, but it seems that I could hear his breath and see the blood dripping on his hands on the sidewalk afterwards," Lucy said, disappointingly.

"Blood or not, we shouldn't worry. He hasn't been a threat," Alex said.

"Not true. We should worry. What happens if something happens to Lucy or one of us or worst of all...something happened to me?!" Starla said.

"Let's just stay calm and not worry for now. If something bad happens, we can start to get serious. Warn us when you see something, okay Lucy?" I said. Lucy nodded worriedly.

But we're all worried.

o.O.o.

"It's nice to know that school is finally over!" Starla said, sighing on her blankets. I was relived too. Alex took out his bow and arrow and began to polish the black bow. It was night time and thankfully, there was no sign of Vladimir. I put down my head and began to sleep.

When I sleep, I always think of four categories. The first one is "Happy". It's like you won the lottery or find your lost dog or something. The second is "Crazy". Crazy as in you walk in to a building with no pants on and your teacher is a fluffy rabbit or something. The third is "Nightmare". This is like you're being sold away as a slave captive. The fourth is "Future". Events that happen in the future.

But whatever the reason was my dream decided to go down road three or four...

Blood.  Blood everywhere. The scent of blood reeked in the room and fallen humans everywhere. Vladimir's face looked around for more victims. He ran through the corridors and found a lost baby. He cackled and took him by the neck. He twisted harder and wider until the baby's face became a pale blue. Then, he stomped on it. The smell of blood was everywhere. He greedily drank.

"Finally," he whispered, "I AM IN FULL POWER!!!" Then, everything became black.

I woke up sweating my palms off. I looked around and saw Lucy, Alex, and Starla looking worried.

"You're late. There's some bad news," Alex said, pointing in the kitchen. Lucy was sobbing silently in her pillow. Starla was trying to comfort her. I walked down the stairs and into the hall.

Blood.

I rushed into the hall and found two adults dead on the floor, the woman's ribs sticking out and the man's head turned in a way heads should NOT be turned in.

And worst of all they were Lucy's parents. Then, I looked above them and on the bloodstained wall and saw something worse.

The letter V was carved in the wall.
